Default Are post exchanges really worthwhile?

Does anyone find that these types of forum post exchanges really work? I think that where the other person has a genuine interest in the subject matter of your forum then they will sometimes stick around and become active members.

Mostly though they make their agreed number of posts then disappear until/unless, a further agreed number is posted both ways. Short term great, it gets the registrations up, and activity for that moment in time, but long term.......?

TeamPlayer,
I think it is to populate a brand spanking new web directory with no contents, but as a way of having an active member in the forum it does now work well but on the odd ocassion you have a post exchange person who sticks around but you are right, most of the time the add the required amount of posts and go.
But if the post are hight quality and contribute to the contents of you site, I think its worth it as people who are genuinly interested in the subject matter of your forum will come across that post in the future via search engine and pop in to your forum.

I think that yes they can work.

For example Temi and I are post exchanging. My forum is fairly new, and is property related, and the forum I am exchanging with is webmaster related. Now, I am no expert in webmastering, and I'm sure that Temi won't mind me saying that he is not an expert in property, but from my part I have learnt a lot from doing the exchange, in an area I wouldn't otherwise have gone into, and Temi's contribution has been invaluable in my forum. We are both continuing with the exchange.

I think if you go into it with an open mind then it can bring something to your site. You don't need to be an expert in the forum's subject, just be willing to learn and interact.

Completely agree with you Lorna,
Sometime people with expert knowledge in the subject matter of a forum are lurking, rather too "shy" to post, but when they see someone committing serious errors (Like I must have done at Lorna's forum many times) the experts momentarily forget about being shy and step in to correct what the novice has got wrong... and they could become regular poster from then on.

I agree with all the posters above. I have been involved in post exchange but after the exchange ratio has been reach I still stick around enjoying the forums. So it does work.

If you can post at Haabaa Forum please. Lets do 10:10 all new threads and not just responding to other people's post, is that okay? I will register as temi at your forum

What is the URL to your forum?
Sure I can post there. Is 10:10 weekly, monthly or what do you prefer?
