E-business development

It is frequently claimed that the methods used to develop traditional business systems are not appropriate for e-business systems. Do you agree that we need different, or at least particular, development approaches for e-business systems projects? If so, what methods? And why the difference?

I guess you mean Business Models.

My feeling is that if your business is actually an e-business i.e. the model could not exist if it wasn't for the invention of the internet, then yes that model will be different to a traditional business model.

However, if the business is not based on e-commerce then the internet becomes merely a promotional tool and there is no change to the business model.
