Credit Cards - Do you think you card is safe?

Credit card details of customers of clothing retailer Cotton Traders was stolen from their website.
Cotton Traders claim that the details were encrypted and that any cards that were compromised were canceled and reissued.

Does new like this makes you fell secure submitting your credit card details to online retail sites?

I use my CC's all the time. In fact, I don't think I carry much cash on me these days. I have about 100 quid every time I go out so I can by random crap like cans of pop and sweets.

I use my CC's online all the time too. Of course, in a way it is site dependent, obviously I wouldn't buy from a site that is not secure.

I never buy anything using my Credit Card. Whenever i need to buy something online then i use only paypal if they accept otherwise i find site which accept paypal as payment processor for that need.

I am a little choosy of where i use my card whether it be online or offline you have to be these days with all the fraud that is going on and they reckon it is still on the increase well it will be as by all accounts the people responsible for it are making an absolute fortune from it so even when some get caught and punished there will still be plenty of others to replace them and so it continues on and on.

In the UK Cahoot have something called a Webcard that gives you a credit card number for each transaction. I have one but never use it - far too much trouble. The other advantage in the UK when you spend more than £100 using a credit card - not debit - is that the credit card company is equally liable. I have had money taken from my account without my knowledge but the bank always pays it back - they are taking the risk not you!

Well I'm always a little afraid of that I have a keylogger on my PC that will collect my CC details.

If someone has a keylogger they could assume your identity and get a nice new car on credit in your name. If you have the lastest AV you don't need to worry

I feel safe using a CC. You just have to be cautious of where you buy online. Also as someone said before having an up to date Anti Virus program will help hopefully find any key loggers if you have any. Although if your cautious online you most likely won't have a problem getting those on your comps.
