Are .edu actually possible to buy in domain aftermarket? I don't think this is possible at all, right?

No, you can't buy .edu domains on the after market.

well, thats not strictly true, if the .edu was registered before the strict rules came in in 2000 then yes they are available.

EDu belongs to the university, you cannot buy for personal use.

You need to talk to the Admin of the U...aka the registrar.
