Default Question on .US Domain Names

.US Domain names can only be bought by US residents, so can an existing .US name be transfered to a non resident??

I think non US residence can have .us domain name, I used to own one. I think they only require that you use it for legitimate business (whatever that means)

When I was searching for a domain name for my latest site I do remember that from what I read .US is only available to US residents. My site sells the vast majority of products to US residents, and the company I used to create the site, and do the registration, is in the US anyway so I had no problem.

The reason I went for a .us is that the .com had already been taken, and I wasn`t happy about taking on a domain name that just didn`t reflect what my site was about.

I think only US citizens or residences are allowed to register .us domains.

When I was registering Linkspub .us, It prompted me for verification.

Did you try buying through godaddy? Never asked me for anything like that. I am not in the US and bought 3 .us domains from godaddy
