How to improve quality of your directory

Google and other search engines seem to dislike basic directory. One with just links and no useful contents. Here are some tips I think one can use to enahance a directory. Please add your suggestion to this thead:

1. Contents of about 200-400 words at the begining of each category (see deeplylinked.com for what I mean)
2. Unique categories (don't just use the category creation dump script owner provides)
3. Have only absolutely necessary categories, creating lots of empty category is not good.

4. Create static keyword rich hypened URLs
5. Attach a blog for improving the content of the site if it's possible
6. Try to get links from high authority domains

this will give you an idea of what Temi meant by adding content. Sadly once again deeply linked was hacked, and we had to get stuck in to cleaning it up again.

As of NOW and because of the crap we have had submitted, deeply linked is now paid only. Anyone here who wanted inclusion however can pm me their details and I will review the PAGE and add it if it is good enough and not in too full an area.

Submitted sites in my sig some time ago and they where rejected. I *did* submit deep links.

The Tenerife one would have been rejected as it is framed, so the internal pages are showing the same URL.

Not sure why the Directory was nuked though possibly not in the right category.

I have provided the service at much time and effort for over a year, at no cost to anyone. Idiots keep submitting crap page or homepages and I was constantly getting abusive and threatening em,ails because we were rejecting sites. Then for the second time it got hacked. It got hacked because it was taking do much time to deal with the crap, that we delayed updating the script.

SO.. no more free, just paid means less time dealing with idiots and aggressive people, and more time doing what I enjoy best. Sadly many have lost out because of the actions of a few. But such is the web.
