Default high Pagerank and Alexa Rank directories.

I owned a website design company, and submit most of the sites to high traffic and high pagerank directories. Here are a list of the ones I recommended.

    pr8:
    Yahoo $299 a year

    Pr7:
    Business.com
    Excellentguide.com
    Botw.org

    Pr6:
    Alivedirectory.com
    Avivadirectory.com
    Aviva.com
    Ewebpages.com

These are my favorite. From my experience, submitting to a lot of free directories use to be the thing to do. But now, over submitting could hurt your rankings. Directory submissions should count for about 20-30 percent of your link profile. Submitting to niche article directories and writing unique content for visitors to read on your site is the thing to do.

There are other directories that may provide value. Suggest them in this thread and why you think they should be on my list.

Default You leave me no choice...

I'd be remiss if I didn't plug my BigGuide.net directory here.

I agree with your selection of some of the best directories. They're definitely the "A" list and there are few others as well.

Mine is a PR5, SEO-friendly, DMOZ listed (recently) general directory. It has over 8500 links currently in about 1000 categories. I recently added articles, but it'll be some time before they add a lot of SEO value.

BigGuide.net was free up until recently. I couldn't keep up with the 200 submissions a day!!! So I switched to free listing with recip link from decent page on a quality site or you can splurge and get an annual listing for $3 or $5 for regular or featured listings. Regular listings include 3 deeplinks. Featured listings inlclude 5 deep links AND up to 3 additional categories. Both will be increasing after the next google PR update.

All new listings show up in front of the free listings with featured in front of paid reg listings of course.

With the money I've been investing I expect the pagerank of my inner pages will be rising steadily in the near future.

Please consider adding my BigGuide.net to your "B" list while I work on getting it into the "A" list.

    Cheers
