Does anyone know of a free or low cost, decent, directory software bundle and/or Content Management System?

I use PHP Link Directory - there are free and paid for versions.

I have used phpMydirectory. It is a great script.
It is not a free script though.

PHPMydirectory costs $99. It is a fantastic script for a portal whereby the memebrs do not have websites, or where there is a combination of the two. It really is a class act, but it needs tweaking to make it search engine friendly. I have altered my instances of it to suit.

How search engine friendly is Esyndicat?

OK a week ago, I released my Esyndicat based rugby directory to the world. It is in a subfolder of my rugby forum. A week ago I had 17,000 pages indexed by google (the forum pages), today I have 110,000 which is the directory pages

NOW tell me which is the best script

Here is the cost breakdown for PHP Link Directory 3.0: $25 if you link back to them from the footer of your directory, $75 if you are not going to link back to them and $10 to access the support forum.

Esyndicat seem to have made Google visit your rugby site more, I think I will check it out too, I must confess I am hearing of it for the first time.

I am using phpmydirectory, I love it too.
I have never tried esyndicator. I will check it out and see.
