The urls you posted does not make much sense and you suggestion that only paid directories should be used does not cut much ice

I would add Deep Links Web Directory to this list. I normally stick to free directories and go for deep link directories when trying paid submissions. Haven't had such a good experience with bidding directories though

What I did, I took 500 webs. TOP10 - 50 niches and checked backs. I extracted directories which I came across and which had any value. There were only paid directories from wich I made above list

General directories in the above list don't deliver traffic. Two reasons why they are bad:

    1. People use search engines (specialist and the top 3 eg: Google Yahoo & MSN)

    2. The only visitors they get are other directory submitters or PR sellers

i never, ever used any of the above for searches - never in 10 years on the web.

People use directories to boost PR, so they can sell their links at crazy prices, so I avoid all directories. The only exception of this would be if one is top notch and specialises in my area then I buy links and never pay over £20 per link = just my rule is all.

At least if my links are targeted, then the traffic should be better and buy from mee,

    Directories with Paid Links

This tells me these directories don't let in spam - reason is no crazy spammer will pay fees of £20 to £40, when directories will just delete them and keep the cash. These sites want to keep a clean, structure to themselves to improve search for the visitor, but to do this well, needs to index a lot of information - and mean a LOT.

Unfortunately, vast majority don't work like this and directory market is saturated bad.

Most charge large fees for little return, and are killing themselves. If they have little info nobody will search and overcharge nobdy will buy.
