How to differentiate manual or using tools?

A lot of people offer directory submission for some $$$
which most of them said that they will submit our site manually instead of using tools.

is there a way that we can know that they submit our site using tools or manual?

I did not listen till now about this type of software.

According to me

Generally you can notice this point with his offers. I think if you will care about pricing and days then you can know easily about them.

Because i saw many times offers like $10 for 500 submission. And i think if you are doing manual work then it will take approx two days means $5 for one day?

Means he is using semi manual or auto submission.

If any one have more idea then please suggest us to identify auto or manual submission.
