maybe you shouldn't let guest post, that way if the only reason they are comin here is to spam, they will think twice becuase they have to sign up? Then again maybe not. Just an idea.

Mike,
I did not allow guest to post, what happen is that when you remove a use in phpBB, all post by that user name defaults to "Guest"

I see no problem allowing guests to post personally. It's nice to be able to post before registering, it gives you a good idea of how friendly, helpful, knowledgeable a web forum is.

Ken,
I agree with your point but when you have an active forum or forum with good page rank etc you become a target of spammers who are not interested in contributing to your forum but just exploiting it, things like that makes most forum disable posting by guest.
