Thumbs up Antivirus discussion

I've read many bad opinions about Norton AV, so decided to create a topic to talk about antivirus softwares, what do you think?

I use AVG (FREE!!! edition) at home and Avast in my office.

Can you tell me what AV do you use and why?

I've made a list to help

Antivirus Software:
- Norton.
- AVG (free edition).
- Avast.
- Panda Software.

Free Online Scanning:
- infectedornot.com
- bitdefender.com

any other?

Here is what we use at work

McAfee Active VirusScan SMB Edition 25 Users by: McAfee - Software

But at home I use

McAfee Total Protection : Download

I'm sure the features speak for themselves.

Norton is also good but we found that the above protection suited us better, we supply Norton AV OEM for £24.99. We recommend Norton and McAfee to all users but some users may disagree.

Norton is very good but uses alot of system resources, Mcafee is much worse in resorces and detection rates , if you have a hardware firewall (router) then the best by along was is Nod32 by Antivirus Software - Eliminate Spyware and Adware with NOD32 Antivirus from ESET , they've had the best detection rates for years ,are cheap and uses less resources than any other AV

I have used their support once but the customer who I was sorting this out for had gold support so they were Symantec were very helpful and my call was answered quickly.

That was a year ago though so i'm not sure what they are like now
