    Default Windows ME issue

    Hello,

I had an interesting issue with Windows ME. I have instaleld it to my PC, everything goes well a few weeks and after that it simply restarts and always after rebooting it restarts itself. And this is going on and on and on.....

I have installed it on another PC and there it is working fine for more than 1 year. I have reinstelled on my PC and the same problem occures. The question is my PC does not like Win ME or Win ME does not like my PC?

ME is notoriuos as an unfinished work. It really is a bag of bones. The main problem is the virtual memory manager. It allocates memory, then forgets to unallocate it (depending on the machine, so basically it is an incompatibility thing as well). I used it for 3 months then bombed it out. I now use win2k & xp corporate.

I think your problem may well be hardware related. Possibly RAM? I am having the same challenge with one of my XP boxes at the moment. If you have some spare RAM kicking about try and chuck it in. Better still if you have two modules of ram, take one out then try and boot your system. If you have the same error swao it with the other.

Let us know how you get on?

    Cheers

I don't think that RAM is the problem, I have 768Mb of them.

But I found out something funny: my PC has an AMD processor. The others on which is working fine had an INtel processor. I guess it is that ME does not like AMD.
