Apple reports best-ever profit

The iPod has helped revitalise Apple's fortunes
Apple Computer has reaped fresh rewards from the popularity of its iPod music players, as sales and earnings rocketed in the past quarter.
Chief executive Steve Jobs said this was the California-based firm's best-ever quarterly performance.
