Default Nvidia launches 15360 x 2560 pixel Quadro card

The new Quadro FX 4700 X2 is based on the G92GL GPU, which is used in different variants for the Quadro FX 3700, GeForce 8800GT, 8800 GTS 512, as well as the (upcoming) 9800 GTS, 9800 GTX and 9800 GX2.

Both of the GPUs used for the 4700 X2 have their own gigabyte of video memory for a grand total of 2048 MB.

The 2 GB of GDDR3 memory is clocked at 800 MHz in DDR mode (1.6 GTransfer/s). Given the fact that GPUs are cooled in a single-slot mode on desktop product as well (8800GT, 8800GTS512, FX3700), Nvidia may have slowed down the 3D capabilities to survive the grueling qualifying process.

What’s interesting, the Quadro comes with quad dual-link TMDS transmitters, supporting a maximum resolution of 3840x2560 pixels across four screens. The refresh rate is 24 Hz with a display capability of 39 million pixels on a single graphic card.

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet by Nvidia, but it seems it could be a good seller for the world of professional simulators could really take advantage of it’s support for 4 displays.

This sounds like it will be a great card to get...

I am currently getting a 8600 GT with 512 MB of RAM on a new pc that I am purchasing!

I look forward to see what prices these cards come out as.

Well, I suppose it will hit a high price, for my personal use I still use a Ati X1950Pro, my favourite card.
