Options Follow SymLinks or SymLinksif OwnerMatch

Hi,
I've installed BossCart succesfully apart from when i turn on the .htaccess file i get an error;
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /shop/ on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

My APache error log states

[Thu Oct 02 08:29:28 2008] [error] [client 192.168.0.2] Options FollowSymLinks or SymLinksIfOwnerMatch is off which implies that RewriteRule directive is forbidden: /Library/WebServer/Documents/shop/, referer: http://192.168.0.7/
[Thu Oct 02 08:29:28 2008] [error] [client 192.168.0.2] script '/Library/WebServer/Documents/message.php' not found or unable to stat, referer: http://192.168.0.7/


I've set up several .htaccess files in the past could it be a permissions issue with some of the files in Bosscart.

Any ideas appreciated.
