Default Google Analytics with Boss JV

Hi all,

I'm trying to get Google Analytics to work with my Boss Cart JV shop. Struggling to make sense of it to be honest.

I've installed the code that google analytics suggests on my template html file, just before the </body> tag. Google Anaylitics appears to be collecting stats over the week quite happily about my website. GREAT

BUT!! The TRACKING STATUS reported on my google analytics install is showing as "TRACKING NOT INSTALLED". This has been reported since day 1. I left it for a couple of days to see if it just took some time to correct itself, but no, 1 week later it still reports the same problem!!

I've even tried changing my tracking code, to be a PHP include script script instead, again, something suggested by google. But this has had no effect on the status.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

- this might be a red herring, but, I wondered if the problem was because my Boss Cart is installed in a subdirectory on my website... eg www. dogscience . co. uk / cart ?? I've put a redirect on my htaccess file at the root of the website to point all traffic to this /cart sub-directory. Could this be the problem? Could this be why google analytics works, but reports my status as not tracked??? I dont know. I've tried putting a dummy index.html file in my root, and adding the google code, but this made no difference.

Of Yes, John, you answered your own question, i suppose the redirection is the cause of the service failure, but if i were you i would not bother myself with the code status :-)

Thanks Bagi, I still dont really know what to do so that the tracking status realises I've added the code, but, as you say, I could just forget the status so long as my analytics results are working.

If anyone reading this does know how to work around this problem I'd be interested to hear all the same.

Cheers.

Hey, I've got another Google Analytics (GA) question....

To enable the 'goals' section of GA, and monitor the conversion rate of people who surf my site and those who go all the way and make a purchase... what URL do I need to enter in the 'Goal URL', for the following goals...

1. Surfers who fully registered on the website

2. Surfers who made a purchase online, paid for their items fully (using the Paypal payments standard)

3. Surfers who made a purchase online, paid for their items by sending cheque in the post.

Thanks, Widgetuk.

Well, the tracking scripts has the following operation in my imagination. They send some kind of ping everytime when a new location is detected. What i suggest you is to visit the mentioned pages and grab the certain webaddresses and insert them when configuring your goals.
