Home page products
Just about got things in order, however, remember the product listing Elvin the Elephant who forgets?
Well he's managed to get himself on the front page listed below the home page text and picture logos.
He's listed in the booklet category, and the product listing is working without any problems, now my main guess is that I've some how got him there without realising how I've managed it, or dear old Elvin has forgotten his placement in the site?
Please could you point me in the right direction for removing the product listing from the home page content.
Thank you!
TnT
..oh and by the way still a with bosscart - it's brilliant!

Hello Tim, I suppose you are familiar with the php, so we could solve this very quickly. Please open the /templates/revolution/index.php file, and look for this lines in the code
PHP Code:
<?php
//loads the featured product onto the frontpage
include ('./templates/main-page.php'); ?>
Please delete these lines 37-39 and the mission will be completed

Aha as usual - that works brilliantly
Although we've decided to leave Elvin where he is for now (perhaps he feels special as a featured product)
Still it's a very simple process, I've just commented out the lines - well they're back in place now - but dead easy to sort - thank you again!

Thank you again Bagi, well all the product images are now loaded on the store - just need to configure the shipping check the text, get the legal jargon sorted, come up with all the SEO descriptive things for the META boxes and give it a test, and we're live!
I had all the images arrive today on a memory stick, and most of them were text based in a locked PDF file - came straight from the publishing company - still a few thumbs are a bit out, but I think they'll do for now.
Going back to the php - is there any way of randomising the products on a rotation? Or would that just be throwing a large spanner in the works and calling it a hack? (Do not waste precious energy or brain power answering this question if it's going to take lots of work ) you've all done more than enough, and we're very greatful.
thanks again! begining of next week or over the weekend we might be able to pop the shop link up as it'll be live

without delving too deep, the code I'm going to guess springs up a featured product - or two - (noticed that now images are loaded) as a thought I refreshed the page a couple of times and noticed the products listed hadn't actually changed - knowing only that the code in the template file pulls in a product (or two) it just made me wonder if the featured products could be randomly selected and be displayed where they are on the home page.
Just an interesting feature I'm sure would work well with bosscart. We only have 17 or is it 18 product listings? ... and it's not like we're going to have a huge flood of people wishing to buy booklets or tip cards for those suffering with an ABI (aquired brain injury). However, if the bosscart system was being used to say sell a few hundred products for cards and craft making - then it would be brilliant thing to have to display new products or to tantalise products on the home for the prosepective customer.
We're more than happy with the way the site is, and I can only ever imagine a few more products / leaflets / booklets ever going to be put onsite, so, for trust-ed, I think we're fine - but hey, it's a thought, an idea...but.......Don't burn out any brain cells over it though.

Dear Tim, I may make the random products display at the main page easily. All I need to know is the certain product quantity you would like to make appear at a given refresh and an admin login/pass to apply the new settings.
Tim, you may control the featured products marking them as special products, and you may set different filters at the front page editor can be selected from the graphical admin interface.
Please send me the requested information and I will execute the changes today.
ps. I will set an additional password protection for the admin interface if you don't mind.
Thanks

Hi Baji,
I would be extremely interested in having a randomized special products on the homepage. I currently have 4 special items but would like 2 random ones.
Can you please instruct me how i can achieve this.
