Default Load Number 3 - still not working

Hi
I seem to be having major problems with getting BossCart to run.
This my 3rd attempt and still not playing. So here is what I have done.

1. Installed XAMPP into c:\xamp
I amended the httpd.conf file as per the tutorial.

2. Installed BossCart into c:\xamp\htdocs
3. Installed the script into c:\xamp\htdocs

Run

Made DB name of 'products' . Table as 'tblproducts' . 1 field on for testing.

Run
We'll Have More Soon
The package then goes into the installation mode
Pre-installation Step. All OK with no apparent errors.
Step 1. as follows:
Host Name = localhost
My SQL User Name = root
My SQL password = password
My SQL database name = products.

Step 2.
Site Name = site test

Step 3. shows

URL name = We'll Have More Soon
Path = c:\xamp\htdocs

Step 4. shows
This software could not import the database.

and now we go into a loop.. back to step 1.. etc..

I take it the problem is with the data base.
Does the localhost/phpmyadmin not make the database onto a folder?

I will get this working.. Trial and error really as there are not a lot of instruction about.

I am really surprised.

This thread so far has had 18 views.

Not one reply on the forum.

It is a pity because it looks (from the demo) a good package.
Yet now, I am beginning to understand why I was warned away from
BossCart.

There is a distinct lack of installation instructins.
Particularly as a lot of people would like to see it running as a stand alone on their own PC first. Even if it means downloading XAMPP\WAMP\EasyPHP etc..

Ok I keep being told to forward my URL and host information.
That is not what I want .. Neither do most people, until they have had a look at it.

Come on then you people. Is it really a Good package or are there better out there and I am wasting my time with it...

Do not be shy please

Hi, I understand your frustration, but you need to understand that I have different issues beside BossCart support. As for the other members they are not familiar with the script.

It is not my position to tell you if this is the best package for you, it is your decision, but you need to know that setup a localhost for a non techy person is not an easy issue. Try to use these database settings durin the installation
Databasename:test
host:localhost
username:root
password:empty don't type anything here
These were specified in the readme file of the xammp..
Thanks
