Hi, thank you for installing Boss Cart!

Please make sure that the bosscart.sql database was imported to your mysql. If it is imported please check the database connection details in the configuration.php file. If everything seems to be fine all I can suggest you is to send me the ftp and the mysql details via private message and I will look into this.
Thanks

Thanks for the prompt reply!!

When you say 'Please make sure that the bosscart.sql database was imported to your mysql' do you mean that it has written the necessary info to my database? If I open the database then yes there is plenty of stuff in it. I have checked the config file and my mysql details are fine.

I see. So the situation is the following. The database is live and the configuration file stores the correct database connection and the script does not work.

All I can imagine is that server block the database connection somehow. It would be very strange but may occur.

Boss Cart JV based on the joomla open source cms so I executed a little research about this Lycos issue. The best guidline is this.

Quote:
1. I found filezilla to be a great way to upload my files, freeware, stable, the queuing works like a charm, and I have not heard any complaints about it as of yet.

2. The absolute path to your lycos site will be:

'/data/members/paid/”first letter of your sitename”/”second letter of your sitename”/”your domain name”/htdocs/www'’;

So as an example if my site would be (chosen at random), let’s settle with http://www.christmasstuff.com (seeing as we’re all in the Christmas mood and all) the full path to my website would be:

‘/data/members/paid/c/h/christmasstuff.com/htdocs/www/’ ;

And for the cache it would then be:

‘/data/members/paid/c/h/christmasstuff.com/htdocs/www/cache/’;

3. The strange thing about Lycos is that they say they provide you with a password for your data_base_, which should be the password you provided while setting up your domain name, but still even after putting that password into your Configuration.php it does not work.

What I done was, I set up a new installation of joomla that Lycos provides and noticed that the password was “test” … Strange, but hey it seemed to work.

So in your Configuration.php instead of the password you provided, exchange it for test.

4. After all this is done, it should work, if not recheck everything in the Configuration.php, and if that doesn’t work and you really cannot get around Lycos … I would advise switching over to a webhost like Bhosted (bHosted.nl - Webhosting & Domeinregistratie) within The Netherlands, that is. They provide great service, reasonable prices and I have never experienced any problems with running Joomla on their servers.

I hope that I have managed to help you with any problems you may have been experiencing with Lycos and I wish you all the best of luck.
(quoted from page cached by google)

I hope this will help you to figure out the solution.

Exactly the same thing happens with Joomla so it must be a Lycos thing
