All right Bryn, i will be online i think so when we get a response from the support will have the opportunity to step forward. Otherwise i studied the install process of the 1.6 version not very long ago and though it make display tha Apache is not detected as far as i can remember it checks if the mod rewrite module was enabled.
At many hosting providers the customer may use mod rewrite but they need to enable this apache module at the admin interface. At the previous installation process this took almost a day to realize what was the problem.

Hi Bagi
Not getting much joy from Biztology Cube Panel support. It appears that apache is only installed for the control panel front end and is actually listening on a different port to the standard http port 80. I have located the httpd.conf file , uncommented the load mod_rewrite line and restarted the apache server but don't think this has made any difference. Not sure whehter it helps at all but if I go to the the shop url / index2.php this loads a page in but no graphics. If I then go to index.php I then get the shop site displayed. Any further ideas or help would be appreciated.

Well i did everything that i could, but according to the present cicumstences this is the maximum i could achieve. If you or your client have the willingness to move the site to a hosting space where the script could use mod rewrite all you need to do is to enable the use of SEF URLs at the SEO tab at the general settings.. You may control which product appears on the main page ticking the On special option box at the product setting page.

Bagi Zoltán

I have had a further response from Biztology saying that they do not advise enabling mod_rewrite within their apache service as it is likely to cause problems with their software. They have suggested that I install a further copy of apache server but not sure whether I can run two services at the same time. May give this a try. Thanks for your help and I'll let you know how I get on.

Bryn, i can not really understund those guys. I belive that mod rewrite should be a DEFAULT and BASIC service which is included in any hosting package. Fingers crossed, and hope you will be able to set up this module.

Everything works well apart the SEF URLs. Happy using!
