write files: FAILED

Hi, im just trying to install bosscart and i keep getting the write files error, i've set the following files permissions to 777

./bosscart/externalrootpath (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/ (folder)
./bosscart/shop/registry/classmanager.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/controller.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/driver.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/driver.mysql.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/models.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/paths.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/shop.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/views.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/payment.paypal.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/registry/payment.worldpay.registry (file)
./bosscart/shop/products/images/ (folder)
./bosscart/shop/products/images/map/ (folder)
./bosscart/install/.htaccess (file)

and ive checked them all. any ideas on what the problem is and a possible solution?

i have the exact same problem. I've 777 em all, from the list. (I ensure you i double checked 14 times or so) and i still get this message:

Checking requirements:

HTTP Server: OK
(Apache)
GD version : OK bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
php version: OK (PHP 4.4.6)
GD version : OK bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
mod_rewrite: passed
write files: FAILED
click here for a list of all the files that must be writeable by the php script
what am i gonna do?

And did you chmod the files again before running the 'modified' script?

If yes and this does not help then I'm affraid you will need to wait 1-2 weeks for the new version, which is to have this bug fixed for good.

I have the same problem i can't get bosscart installed. So i have searched for an awnser on this forum. I came accros your solution instide another topic.

But what is different in the pieces of code. i look exactly the same.

Is'nt there another solution.

Hello Dimitri,

Actually there was a mistake in my post... Thanks for pointing this out! The replacement code should be 4 lines shorter, without one foreach condition that made the script fail on some servers. Please look again and this should work.

Other solution - wait 2 weeks for the newer version.
