Installed bosscartjv1.1 htaccess problem

Hello, Please can you help.
Just installed bosscartjv1.1 no problem, if I remove the .txt from the htaccess file as instructed I get a forbidden notice cant access the shop or administrator, put the .txt extension back and all works fine.
Any ideas for a newbee.

Yes I am using Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.8.28 OpenSSL/0.9.7g PHP-CGI/0.1b.

I have checked my server www log and this is the result when I remove .txt from htaccess file.

I hope this gives you a little more to go on.

But the server is Linux + Apache, and I have never had any other problems with htaccess, as many of the sites I host are using it.

Hi longshot, as you wrote RewriteRule directive is forbidden, it means that the script can not rewrite the URLs. I suggest you to contact with your hosting provider and ask them to enable you the mod_rewrite apache module.
