What have I done wrong?

I know I've mucked something up somewhere but im getting the following error on my siteits a 404 error but I don't know where in my set up ive told it to go here so I cant find it to fix it. my site is my username.com /shop and click on one of the catagorys.

My strongest guess is that the you need to specify the rewrite base in the .htaccess file at the installation root. Please insert this to code under the line rewriteEngine on and try again.

that dosent seem to have fixed things and now i cant access my site via ftp

Sorry, to hear this, but to be honest knowing the content of the .htaccess file the ftp problem has no connection to the file modification. Please, send your ftp details via pm and I will check the site in the next 24 hours.
