Beneficial Blogs - Why Did You Start Yours?

Using blogs has become very beneficial to companies, even
the traditional non-internet based ones. Fresh, relevant
content to their niches makes them both a source for news
in their industry, as well as a place to centralize their
company specific news.

I'd like to ask you fellow members how you came upon the
decision to use blogs for your websites/companies. What
were your initial concerns?
