Default Web directories and Bid Directories

    Hey,

I don't know if many of you have noticed that there are web directories out there that have installed bid directories on subdomains?

EG. mydomain.com <-- the web directory itself
    mydomain.com/biddingdirectory <--- the bidding dir

What is your view? I think it would be much more proffesional if you built one from scratch like temi did, haabaatags.com instead of having it installed on a subdomain.

Two directories on the same domain is too much.
I guess some people trying to milk one domain as much as possible.

From another side submitters have two options to use regular or bidding directory but one of them would be one click deeper.

I would probably install directory in subfolder of the blog or other niche site as additional resource...

Precisely my thoughts. I think it is abit too much -- it should be a web directory or a bidding directory.

I am not a fan of having 2 directories on the same domain, especially if customers don't know that the other directory exists.

Yeah I quite agree. Directories should be the man focus of a domain, things like blogs/forums should be subdomains.

It has a lot more SEO benefits that way round, as instead of being directory/directory, it's directory/forum or directory/blog, creating new and different content.

I reckon they should be kept totally separate.
A bidding directory should no doubt start from the homepage of a website so bidders can get value for money otherwise what is the point of a having a bidding directory.
