Duke, whiy don't you go slowly slowly and do it via reselling first, then maybe you can make some money along the way and test out some ideas..that's what I'm doing. It's a really good set-up and, now I have got a couple of other projects going, my next one is to set up a niche hosting site for bloggers and online-communities. From the clients point of view, they don't know if you have a reseller account or three whole datacenters tucked up your sleeve (as long as you don't tell 'em)
