Default High level of hacking among hosting company?

Not to put all my eggs in the proverbial one basket, I have my sites with various hosting companies.
Over the last few days, I have received emails with contents along the line of the example below, I wonder if hosting companies are getting hacked more at more than usual rate lately?

We've recently done an audit of company name web hosting services and have found that many
of our customers have a weak password.

In an attempt to secure your hosting further we have changed all of our customers
passwords to a randomly generated password that meets our
guidelines.
You will need to fill in the email address, cpanel user name, and the original cpanel
password to obtain your new password. If you are not sure
of the original cpanel password, or if you do not feel comfortable filling out the form,
please contact us through live chat.
