Recently on
Bid Directory Blog we have been receiving a mass of spam.
Askimet has so far been unable to prevent this even though the spam comments which we have added some from a certain spammer below (all from the IP address: 89.149.205.199) has been marked as spam.
I have now taken the opportunity to block this IP address after coming across a little mod for the htaccess file and added the following:
order allow,deny
deny from 89.149.205.199
allow from all
The above IP address is the full IP address of the spammer (over 20 spam comments received on a daily basis).
What is really confusing here is that the URL the spamming is adding has nothing at that page...
Anyhow, hope this course of action works!
