Default Visa new scam attempt

Security company Sophos reports that a new phishing scam was detected for Visa owners, after las week’s fraud tentative on Mastercard users.

The email claims that users should register for “Verified by Visa” technology which "protects your existing Visa card with a password you create", giving you assurance that only you can use your Visa card online.

It seems that the email provides a lot of links to real Verified by Visa homepage, but the button “Activate Now” takes you to a phishing page that requires details like general information about the user and financial details like 3-digit security ID, ATM pin and Visa card number.

Information taken from Sophos webpage, I tought could share this with you to be informed about this new potential phishing attemp.

Keep yourself secure!

Bogdan
