Its a lot of hard work to get good returns on them, but starting threads like
this helps.
Every post, update i make i submit to all Socials even nofollow ones (excellent for traffic). There's no tool that can really spped up things but i recommend the sharethis widget & feedburner as you can add as many flares as you like & submit them though your feedburner.
