Sorry to cut out the spcial niceties, but I'm up against it and am never at my best when having a sense of humour failure.

I'm having a problem installing Boss Cart on 1&1 which I noticed has been experienced before - inexplicably I'm only getting the questions asked by that member not the responses - whereby I'm changing permissions to 777 in the shop/registry directory (as well as the others as required) but every time I run the installation program they return to 411: all other files stay at 777 except thse, and the ones that weren't listed in the directory (which I changed out of a sense of increased desperation) seem happy to stay at 777 ... but then they're not interrogated by the installation package.

Am I going mad, or is there a simple solution buried in a piece of code somewhere?
