I haven't read the full story but too be honest, I don't blame them.
A couple of years ago when I was a Store Manager at a German supermarket I had to go to head office and fix a few computers. Techies as you call them were not getting the job done and it was effecting all the stores in our region.
SOM had asked for assistance and I fixed the computers in front of the technicians who were all shocked.
Sadly, I was only paid for my travel expenses.
