Mostly though they make their agreed number of posts then disappear until/unless, a further agreed number is posted both ways. Short term great, it gets the registrations up, and activity for that moment in time, but long term.......?  |
I think that yes they can work.
For example Temi and I are post exchanging. My forum is fairly new, and is property related, and the forum I am exchanging with is webmaster related. Now, I am no expert in webmastering, and I'm sure that Temi won't mind me saying that he is not an expert in property, but from my part I have learnt a lot from doing the exchange, in an area I wouldn't otherwise have gone into, and Temi's contribution has been invaluable in my forum. We are both continuing with the exchange.
I think if you go into it with an open mind then it can bring something to your site. You don't need to be an expert in the forum's subject, just be willing to learn and interact.
